Local Pet Travel

Domestic airlines require pets to have valid rabies and annual vaccinations:

• Vaccinations must be older than 14 days but less than 1 year old.
• Three-year rabies vaccinations are NOT accepted for domestic travel.
• If vaccinations have expired or have never been given, they must be administered at least 14 days before travel to be considered valid.

Our consultants will review your pet’s veterinary records to ensure compliance and avoid delays.

Our dedicated consultant team will:

• Gather all relevant travel details for your pet.
• Assess your pet’s travel readiness based on veterinary documentation.
• Provide a detailed travel itinerary, including flight details and collection times.

We offer flights to major South African airports and road transport on select routes, with schedules updated regularly.

Pets must travel in IATA-compliant travel crates. We offer both wooden and plastic IATA-compliant travel crates, ensuring the highest safety standards. If you prefer to use your own crate, we’ll verify its compliance with airline and IATA regulations.

We also offer loan crate system between our Johannesburg and Cape Town branches.

Before departure:

• Our Animal Handler will contact you 1–2 days before collection to confirm pickup.
• On the day of travel, avoid large meals—a small snack is best.
• Keep cats in a secure room the night before to prevent hiding.
• Pets must be checked in at the airline at least 2 hours before departure.

Arrival Options:

You can collect your pet directly from the airline cargo section or opt for our collection service, where our Animal Handler retrieves your pet, ensures the crate is clean if needed, and arranges home delivery.
