Description
ADAPTIL® Calm Collar has been proven to help promote learning in puppies and dogs and improve adaptation to our modern lifestyle.
The ADAPTIL® Calm Collar is therefore an aid in the prevention of stress-related behavioural problems that may occur in adulthood.
ADAPTIL® Calm Collar is recommended for use on dogs that are kept mostly outside.
ADAPTIL® Calm Collar can also be used under direction from a vet or behaviourist and alongside behavioural therapy to help in the management of clinical problems such as separation anxiety, noise phobias etc.
ADAPTIL® Calm Collar is not recommended for use in cases of hyperactivity or aggression. In such situations, we strongly recommend consulting your veterinarian or a behaviourist.
ADAPTIL® Calm Collar is non-sedative, non-systemic and as such has no contra-indications with any other treatment. Pheromones are species specific, thus ADAPTIL® is not perceived by people nor other pets.
ADAPTIL® Calm Collar can be used alongside traditional medications.
Precautions:
Remove ADAPTIL® Calm Collar before swimming or shampooing and replace it when the dog’s coat is dry.
Do not put another collar or a bandana between ADAPTIL® Calm Collar and your dog’s skin; It will block the contact and therefore the release of the pheromone.
Directions of use
- Always keep the collar on the dog, except during swimming or shampooing and use a new collar every 4 weeks.
- Not for intermittent use. Efficacy is proven in clinical trials with continuous use of the collar (24 hours a day) allowing the dog to constantly perceive the “appeasing messages”.
- Combining ADAPTIL® Calm Collar with ADAPTIL® Transport Spray may provide optimal results for dogs showing multiple fears or as a supplement for additional comfort during periods which are especially challenging.
- Behavioural and environmental modifications may be required, and advice should be sought from your veterinary surgeon.
- Duration of use must be adjusted depending on the nature / cause of the fear and according to the duration of combined behavioural therapy.
