Better Recovery Tool
Microchips are not an effective recovery tool. There are hundreds of different databases across the world, most of them only serving a local or regional area. If your pet has moved to a new home recently, a vet’s office scanning your pet’s microchip will likely not be able to associate the microchip number with any of the critical information to quickly reunite you with your pet. A CareTag is different.
Each CareTag has a unique QR code which links directly to a profile, providing critical details about your pet to someone who has found them, including your contact information, but also urgent health alerts that the person should know (e.g., your pet requires insulin or has a severe allergy).
When a CareTag is scanned, you receive the finder’s GPS location and contact information.
Active tracking solutions like Apple AirTags are not enough — their batteries can die and they are only effective if you know your pet is gone and you’re looking at the app.
